About
Hi, I’m Sara.
I’m currently based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and I’m flexible and open to relocation for the right opportunity. My motivation to contribute to the clean energy transition comes from both my professional experience and a strong commitment to addressing the interconnected challenges of energy access, affordability, and environmental impact. I believe energy is fundamental to modern life, yet current systems are often both economically burdensome for communities and environmentally unsustainable. I’m driven to help advance solutions that improve access, reduce costs, and support a more sustainable energy system for both people and the planet.
My background is rooted in communication, analysis, and long-term thinking. I studied Political Science as an undergraduate, where I developed a deeper understanding of political systems, public institutions, and the ways policy shapes people’s lives. That foundation strengthened both my empathy and my interest in justice-centered work. After graduating, I wanted to build technical skills that would complement my humanities and communications background, so I completed professional certificates in
Data Analytics
and
Data Science
through IBM.
I’m now returning to NC State to complete an interdisciplinary M.S. in Climate Change & Society alongside a professional certificate in GIS. I’m especially interested in work that uses GIS and spatial data to help mitigate climate impacts, advance an equitable clean energy transition, and communicate complex information more effectively and broadly. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, taking care of my plants, and staying active in the Raleigh community through volunteering and exploring local businesses.
